Creative Professional Development
October Gallery Education offers monthly training events for teachers and art educators in the gallery. We run bespoke training for groups and school too, please contact us if you would like to book us for an INSET day training or after school.
We also run events in the gallery which respond to current issues in the art education sector and work with artists, lecturers and professionals to create a stimulating programme of events.

Luminous Matter: Spinning Zoetropes & Light-Based Images
Join us for a creative training session exploring light, movement, and early animation techniques. Inspired by Transvangarde: Luminous Matter, this hands-on workshop includes making spinning zoetropes, glow-in-the-dark sculptures, and experimenting with low-tech photography. Perfect for educators, artists, and curious makers, the session offers playful, accessible activities suitable for classroom or personal use.
Please note: The workshop will take place in the upstairs theatre space, which regrettably does not have step-free access.
