30th January - 1st March 2025

The October Gallery is delighted to announce 'Materials Sensibilities,' a new group exhibition showcasing innovative sculpture, ceramics, and painting. The works are by Nnenna Okore, Naomi Wanjiku Gakunga, Susanne Kessler, LR Vandy, Jukhee Kwon, Sokari Douglas Camp, Sylvie Franquet, Xanthe Somers, Theresa Weber, Gaia Ozwyn, and Khadija Jay. Each artist challenges the limits of their materials, exploring the connection between materiality and the artist's hand.

During the school workshops, we will investigate the material aspects of artworks through process-based creation, involving techniques such as cutting, weaving, pasting, ripping, or embedding. Participants will create unique artworks inspired by the diverse styles of this dynamic group of emerging artists.

Here, at the October Gallery we try to run all our projects and events with little, or no financial cost for our community.

Sadly, this means that we can not offer refunds because the fee is going towards keeping our programme exciting and accessible for ALL art lovers and allows us to keep working as a charity.
