Forest Figures

3 October - 9 November 2024

Yôrô, 2024.

Basil, chrome oxide green pigment, matte hydrogel varnish, green and lemon gold leaf and nails on wood. 180 x 131 cm.

October Gallery presents Forest Figures, a much-anticipated solo exhibition of new works by Alexis Peskine. This, the artist’s third show at October Gallery, will intersect with the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair, taking place at Somerset House, in London, from 10th – 13th October.

Artist Ney will be leading school workshops this term in response to Alexis Peskine's Forest Figures exhibition. In these workshops we will be looking at portraits, shadows through the exploration of materiality, tone perspective and sculpture. There are so many techniques considered during the making process to make the different layers of the final artwork - this way of making will be explored throughout our upcoming workshops.

Here, at the October Gallery we try to run all our projects and events with little, or no financial cost for our community.

Sadly, this means that we can not offer refunds because the fee is going towards keeping our programme exciting and accessible for ALL art lovers and allows us to keep working as a charity.
